About the Position Girton Grammar School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Humanities Teacher to inspire and challenge students to improve their skills and understanding of Humanities. Key Selection Criteria Deep curriculum and subject knowledge, with a passion for promoting mastery through explicit instruction and knowledge rich content. Skilled in explicit instruction and evidence-informed pedagogy, including strategies such as retrieval practice, spaced learning, and formative assessment. Commitment to continuous professional learning, engaging with the science of learning and reflective practice to improve student outcomes. Strong communication, organisational, and administrative skills , supporting structured and predictable classroom environments that maximise cognitive engagement. Essential Qualifications/ Skills Previous experience and/or the capability to teach History and Humanities to students within Year 7 to Year 10. Relevant teaching qualification in Humanities and Social Science (History) or extensive experience teaching History along with a current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration or ability to obtain VIT. Knowledge of the Disability Act, 2006 (Vic) and its implications for schools, students and the role of a Teacher.
