We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Designer to join our Energy Group . Our projects span the entire energy supply chain - from renewables to hydrogen, power generation, transmission, and distribution - in WA, nationally and oversees. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Developing and reviewing detailed electrical designs, including single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, layout and details drawings for renewable generation and substation (MV and HV) equipment and systems. Drafting in software such as microstation, autocad, revit etc. Microstation is the preferred package. Collaborating with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and technicians, to gather requirements, assess project scope, and address technical challenges. Performing project lead drafter duties on projects Coordinating small drafting project teams. Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers, fostering their professional growth and knowledge in electrical design. Participating in design review meetings, identify potential risks or design issues, and propose effective solutions. What you will bring to the team: Degree or Diploma in relevant field and discipline Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in electrical design, with a strong focus on substation and renewable projects, preferably in a consulting or power utility business Extensive experience with drafting software packages. Extensive knowledge of electrical design principles, equipment, and systems, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, protection relays, and control systems. In-depth understanding of relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex technical challenges and propose effective solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
