About the Role We are looking for a highly skilled technical engineer to join our dynamic, closeknit engineering team, based in Dandenong. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role combines technical expertise with customer and client-facing responsibilities to support the design, development, and management of conveyor systems. Key Responsibilities, Technical & Project Management Assist in the design and development of conveyor systems and components. Prepare and review technical drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation. Conduct load, stress, and material selection calculations for project feasibility. Coordinate projects from quotation to completion, ensuring alignment with customer expectations. Track project schedules to meet deadlines and support resource planning. Evaluate and manage cost estimations while ensuring financial accuracy. Design & Engineering Ensure compliance with Australian engineering standards and safety regulations. Support project engineers in managing conveyor projects from concept to installation. Work with SolidWorks to assist in 2D/3D technical drawings and DXF file management. Engage in continuous process improvement to enhance efficiency and quality. Customer & Client Engagement Communicate with customers to understand their requirements and provide technical support. Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and clients to ensure successful project outcomes. Conduct site visits for troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation support. About You We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 2–5 years of experience in engineering. The ideal candidate has strong proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks and possesses a solid understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing documentation. With excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and commercial financial skills, you will be capable of preparing cost estimations, managing project budgets, and assisting in forecasting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as this role requires regular engagement with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project success. Additionally, you will demonstrate exceptional organisational and administration skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads, manage schedules, and maintain high quality assurance standards. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, email applications, and 2D/3D design modelling software is required, and experience in FEA, DEM & P&T modelling is highly desirable. What’s in it for you?
