Join the team We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Designer to join our team in loyalty to develop and refine digital products that solve user problems, enhance user engagement, and meet business objectives through innovative and effective design solutions. You will leverage user research and data analysis to inform design decisions, ensuring the creation of products that align with user needs and market trends. What you’ll be doing As a Product Designer working for Kmart you will: • Establish and communicate a clear design vision that supports the overall product strategy and contributes to the roadmap for Kmart & Target. • Harmonise technological feasibility, user requirements, and business goals to deliver well-rounded, practical design solutions. • Work closely with IT, marketing, and other stakeholders to integrate design research, data, and market analysis into the product development process • Apply UX/UI principles to enhance product usability and satisfaction, ensuring designs are user-friendly and meet regulatory standards • Advocate for and implement industry best practices and emerging trends in design. • Share insights and knowledge through presentations, workshops, and internal communications to inspire and educate the team, contributing to the Kmart Group's centre of design excellence. To be successful in this role you’ll have: • Minimum 3 years experience and proven track record in designing and shipping digital products and systems that solve real problems and are used by people • Qualification in Product Desgin, Graphic Design, Service Design or a related field • Experience in enhancing the UX of complex systems, paying special attention to form, touchpoints, and functionality across all phases of the product lifecycle • Appreciation and understanding of the entire product development process, from problem-solving and system modeling to detailed UI, visual, and interaction design. • Skilled in creating wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes using modern design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, Framer, Invision, and Keynote, as well as in the browser with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. • Understanding of component-based design systems that can be applied at scale. • Extensive experience with design tools and solid understanding of user-centered design principles, including conducting and applying user research. • Ability to communicate the rationale behind design proposals and explain complex design problems to people across the company. • Motivated self-starter with a growth mindset who can collaborate deeply with product management, engineering, research, and analytics, comfortable with ambiguity, and focused on continuous improvement.
