Legal Counsel — Brisbane, Brisbane Region

The company: This listed infrastructure company owns interests in and manages significant assets servicing the resources industry. As the company continues to grow, a new position has been created to service the company’s diverse legal requirements. About the role: As part of the established and collegiate legal, risk and compliance function, and working closely with an approachable Senior Corporate Counsel as well as the Chief Legal and Risk Officer, you will work across a broad range of operational and corporate legal matters including: negotiation and drafting of construction and project documentation relating to a number of significant projects including construction contracts, access agreements and other related commercial agreements; advising on BAU commercial work including contracts, ESG, property, procurement, safety, planning, compliance, risk and corporate finance related matters; assisting on corporate governance and company secretariat matters including ASX Listing Rules, Corporations Act and Board related matters; training internal stakeholders; managing external legal providers; and assisting on policies and procedures to ensure the ongoing compliance with emerging legal requirements. Skills/Experience: To be considered for this role you will have: 3 years' PAE in projects, construction, energy or commercial law; exposure to large infrastructure / construction projects will be highly regarded; some exposure to in-house is preferred including secondment experience; a commercial, solutions focussed approach and good communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.
