Your role within our Standby Support After Suicide, a dedicated postvention suicide support service, will allow you to: Support people who are grieving after someone has died by suicide Use your exceptional interpersonal skills to offer comfort, care and assistance to people bereaved and impacted by suicide The role is a casual position with variable hours (that may occasionally include requests for after-hours or weekend work), and some travel will be required. You will join the North Coast NSW StandBy team, offering support and resources to families, individuals, friends and service providers. Why you’ll like working with us: Your voice will be valued and heard in our mission to support positive social change You’ll be part of a supportive, diverse, and inclusive environment where we celebrate individuality We prioritise your wellbeing, with benefits such as access to online wellbeing platform, flexible working options The successful candidate will have: Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Social Work, Social Science, Social Welfare, Psychology or similar Experience in working with people bereaved through suicide and/or dealing with severe personal trauma The ability to communicate sensitively in an authentic, compassionate and respectful manner that takes into consideration the cultural background of the person being supported Demonstrated well-developed organisational, time management and administrative skills with the ability to complete case notes Demonstrated experience in maintaining professional boundaries while engaging in person-centred work Experience in working as a team, including meaningful consultation with colleagues and respectful, person-centred documentation We are proud to announce that we have received recognition as an accredited Great Workplace by WRK.
