Teacher - Intensive Learning CentreWellington Correctional Centre Salary: $101,261 - $113,516 pa plus superannuation and leave loading. Position Type: 2x Ongoing, Full-Time Positions Location: Wellington Correctional Centre Your role An exciting opportunity is currently available for an experienced Teacher to join the Intensive Learning Centre (ILC) at the Wellington Correctional Centre to assist with planning and developing courses which meet the requirements of accredited programs and training packages to achieve the highest level of compliance in accordance with CSNSW policies and procedures. This role is crucial in the contribution to reduce inmate reoffending and increased community safety. What you’ll do As part of this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following, however not limited to: • Implement education assessment and planning and processes to determine offender participation in appropriate education programs and services. • Conduct classes with offenders who are required to meet the learning needs, styles and interests of inmates under the principles of adult learning • Develop course outlines and teaching and assessment resources for the delivery of courses which meet the accredited qualifications • Participate in evaluation processes including validation and moderation of assessment. • Coordinate the provision of services in the Intensive Learning Centre related to education and training i.e. inmates’ access to computers, library, and courses delivered by the external education service providers • Maintain administrative duties related to teaching • Contribute to offender case management by providing support and advice to inmates on education and employment pathways What we’re looking for • Current TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus the following units: TAELLN411 (or its successor) or TAEN401A, and TAEASS502 (or its successor) or TAESS502A or TAESS502B or a diploma or higher level qualification in adult education • Bachelor degree in Education, incorporating subjects studied which qualifies the employee to teach in the learning area by AEVTI; or Graduate Diploma (or higher) in Education, and qualification (degree, diploma or certificate) in a discipline other than education, incorporating subjects studied which qualifies the employee to teach in the learning area by AEVTI • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment • Current NSW Driver Licence and preparedness to drive a vehicle while performing the role.
