The environment has been designed to provide children with many different learning opportunities. Both the indoor and outdoor areas are large, and children can play without encroaching on each other’s space. The settings and materials are changed gradually throughout the years to provide children with new challenges. The objectives of the position are as follows: Develop and provide a high-quality, developmentally appropriate educational program (based on an approved curriculum framework) for the children at Gower Street Kindergarten Inc. in consultation with the Committee of Management (the “employer”) and the parents of children attending Gower Street Kindergarten Inc . To create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for children of all abilities and from diverse backgrounds. Provide educational leadership while working as a member of a collaborative service team. Operate professionally at all times and ensure that the service meets the requirements of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) Kindergarten Guide ; Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 ; Education and Care Services National Regulations, Department of Human Services- Child Safe Standards and functions in line with the Strategic Plan, approved policies, procedures and the Quality Improvement Plan of Gower Street Kindergarten Inc. This is a 12-month appointment for 2025, subject to review. Qualifications Essential requirements Qualifications suitable for an early childhood teacher under the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 , Education and Care Services National Regulations and the DEECD Kindergarten Guide Be registered as a teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching from 30 September 2016, and continue to renew/maintain the registration during the course of employment Must be able to fill the position of Nominated Supervisor as required under the Education and Care Services National Regulations, or be nominated as a person in a leadership position or with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the service. A current approved first aid qualification approved anaphylaxis management training and approved emergency asthma management training, in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations and service policies. The successful applicant must have a Victorian Institute of Teaching membership (this includes a Police Check)
