Our NSW Government client is hiring for a highly capable UX/UI Designer to join the organisation. Working within the Policy and Delivery Business Unit this role will be working on a core product that helps out across the wider state, that makes finding information more accessible and assists in residential management. The team is a cross-functional team working on further enhancements. Role Title: UX/UI Designer Contract Length: 28/04/2025 to 03/10/2025 Daily Pay: $750 - $850 Super per day. Location: Parramatta (2150). Office/WFH Hybrid, 2 days per week in office and 3 days from home. Role Requirements: UI Design & Prototyping: Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs using Figma, ensuring brand consistency, accessibility, intuitiveness, wider NSW Government guidelines and visual appeal. Interactive UI Development: Convert design mock-ups into functional, visually engaging web interfaces that enhance user interaction. User Experience Enhancement: Optimise performance across desktop, mobile, and tablet devices while conducting thorough usability testing to validate functionality. Collaborative Development: Work closely with designers, product managers, and back-end developers to create cohesive, intuitive user experiences. Responsive Code Implementation: Build dynamic, mobile-friendly web experiences using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Bootstrap (or similar) to ensure efficiency and scalability. Cross-Browser Testing: Ensure a seamless and consistent experience across Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and other major browsers through rigorous testing. Information Architecture & Accessibility: Collaborate with engineering and product teams to refine site structure and ensure compliance with WCAG standards for accessibility and inclusivity. Knowledge and Experience: Extensive experience in UX/UI within digital environments. Experience delivering designs that are not only visually appealing and user friendly but balance custom development and OOTB functionality. Highly skilled in HTML, CSS and JavaScript to prepare custom style contents. Experienced in the use of Figma. Experience with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA highly desirable. Strong experience in the management of, and collaboration with, other experts, technical and non-technical. Excellent communication skills, being able to clearly explain and document complex concepts and designs to a variety of audiences. Experience working in an Agile setting. Flexibility and adaptability, responding quickly when situations and priorities change.
