About the Opportunity Our EnergyCo Legal team is currently seeking to appoint two Senior Legal Officers to our growing team of legal professionals at the forefront of NSW’s energy transition. As a Senior Legal Officer at EnergyCo, you’ll play a key role in supporting major infrastructure and reform projects under the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap and Network Infrastructure Strategy . You’ll provide high-quality legal advice on complex transactional, commercial, and regulatory matters, working closely with energy market bodies, private sector partners, and top-tier law firms. About You You are a trusted legal advisor, with sound experience and ideally bring a strong understanding of the energy or infrastructure sectors. You offer expertise in energy, commercial, or administrative law, with demonstrated experience advising on regulatory and transactional matters relevant to the electricity industry—particularly within the context of government reform and legislative frameworks such as the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020 and National Electricity Law and Rules. Analytical and solutions-focused, you excel at translating complex legal issues into practical advice that supports decision-making and drives outcomes. You’re confident working across all levels of government and with external stakeholders, contributing to major reform and infrastructure projects. Your collaborative style, sound judgment, and commitment to delivering high-quality legal support make you a valuable partner in advancing EnergyCo’s mission. The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) is a statutory corporation established under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987 and governed by its Board, appointed by the Minister for Energy. EnergyCo is a Staff Agency employing all EnergyCo staff and is an agency related to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW). EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap , which aims to transform the state’s electricity system into one that is cheap, clean, and reliable. As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020, EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the State’s first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects (PTIPs), which are located in the Central-West Orana, New England, South West, Hunter-Central Coast, and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities, investors, and industry to investigate, plan, recommend and coordinate generation, storage and network infrastructure projects.
