Salary of $35.42 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience. Band 3. The Opportunity Moonee Valley City Council’s Arts and Culture department is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Café All-Rounder to join the team at the Clocktower Centre, a vibrant performing arts and function centre. As a Café All-Rounder, you will be responsible for running the café’s daily operations, making high-quality espresso coffee, ensuring food and beverage stock is attractively displayed, and maintaining a clean and organised café space. You’ll work closely with other staff to ensure a seamless and positive experience for all patrons, from coffee lovers to event guests. Responsibilities Provide welcoming and friendly service as the front-line staff at the Clocktower Centre, ensuring a positive and professional customer experience. Prepare and serve high-quality espresso coffee, manage food and beverage displays, and ensure café areas are always clean and presentable. Monitor deliveries from suppliers, ensuring goods are as ordered Ensure that Point of Sale systems are operational and advise supervisor of any issues. Adhere to food safety procedures, maintain daily documentation, and ensure the café runs smoothly according to opening and closing procedures. Work with the wider catering and operations team to maintain a professional and efficient environment. Ensure responsible service of alcohol to patrons as required. On occasion, supervise casual staff or agency staff as needed during shifts. Skills & Experience The ideal candidate will have previous experience in customer service, particularly within a café environment, and proven expertise in espresso coffee-making, ensuring consistent high-quality service. A strong understanding of café operations, including food and beverage products, stock management, and safe food handling, is essential. The role requires a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification and experience working in a licensed venue. Experience with POS systems and cash handling is important, as is the ability to work independently and under pressure while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanour.
