School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work Part-time (90%), fixed-term position until 30 November 2027, then will reduce to part-time (40%) fixed-term position until 18 February 2028 (working across two projects) Full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $91,658 - $98,330 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 6) Based at our St Lucia campus About This Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Research Project Officer to support two ARC Funded projects in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work. In this role, you will provide specialist research technical support and subject matter expertise to coordinate aspects of the research project life-cycle for the following ARC funded projects: Enhancing outcomes for young people in out-of-home care who self-place Empowering peer-parent and family advocacy in Australian child protection Key responsibilities will include: Coordinating aspects of the research project cycle, including planning, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation Providing research project and administrative support Assisting with implementing research project plans Developing and maintaining working knowledge of the methodologies, techniques and equipment utilised at all stages of the research project Assisting in the development of research and testing procedures and methodologies Preparing reports, graphs, figures and presentations on research outcomes at different stages of the research cycle outcomes About UQ As part of the UQ community, you will have the opportunity to work alongside the brightest minds, who have joined us from all over the world. Demonstrated project management skills and ability to provide support and guidance to research assistants. Demonstrated research project-relevant knowledge and skills with expertise in qualitative and community-based research including data collection, analysis, joint preparation and authorship of manuscripts and ensuring compliance with approved ethics protocol. Knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches for working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with experiences of the child protection and out-of-home care systems, and knowledge of community-based responses to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families. Well-developed problem-solving skills, with an ability to forward plan, prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and work with a high level of adaptability, both independently and as part of a team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to produce clear, succinct documentation and the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including people with lived experience of child welfare or other welfare systems, peer researchers, and non-government community services agencies.
