Infrastructure Engineers implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services. Your role will be focused on managing and maintaining our Microsoft and Cisco Collaboration communication infrastructure including the configuration, deployment, technical security, and operations. This is a dynamic and fast paced area of our Technology Services group. You will provide broad technical support for project build, test, and solution deployment activities for a wide range of Microsoft and Cisco collaboration technologies. Your expertise will enable you to provide high-quality support to maintain efficient and effective operations in your work area. You’ll need to have strong technical capabilities to lead, manage, inspire, and motivate teams. You’ll foster collaboration and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. You’ll need to exercise independence and effective decision-making based on high-level judgement and subject matter expertise, with consideration of wider implications. Requirements Key duties and responsibilities • Maintaining and supporting Services Australia and partner agencies Microsoft and Cisco collaboration Infrastructure. • Providing broad technical support for project build, test, and solution deployment activities. • Scheduling and performing regular maintenance and updating of supported products. • Performing technical operations for ICT solutions, maintain technical system information in service tools and prepare a range of technical and corporate documentation. • Supporting the development of plans for backups and disaster recovery and execute those plans when necessary. • Performing problem management and root cause analysis. • Escalating issues that adversely impacts on policy, performance, and/or service. Collaborating with stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure effective and timely implementation of business solutions. Engaging a flexible ICT workforce will enable the Buyer to augment its requirements for the major work programs being undertaken. Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters. Essential criteria 1. IT infrastructure: Level 3 (SFIA) Provisions/installs, configures and maintains infrastructure services and components. Monitors, measures and reports on infrastructure load, performance and security events. Identifies operational issues and contributes to their resolution. Carries out agreed operational procedures, including backup/restore, using supplied infrastructure tools and scripts. Carries out agreed system software maintenance tasks. Automates routine system administration tasks to specifications using standard tools and basic scripting. 2. Programming/software development: Level 2 (SFIA) Designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends and refactors simple programs/scripts. Applies agreed standards and tools to achieve a well-engineered result. Reviews own work. 3. Systems installation and removal: Level 3 (SFIA) Installs or removes hardware and/or software, using supplied installation instructions and tools, including handover to the client. Uses standard procedures and diagnostic tools to test installations, correct problems, and document results. Records details of all components that have been installed and removed. Assists users and follows agreed procedures for further help or escalation. Contributes to the development of installation procedures and standards. Additional requirements 1.
