Job Description: Adhere to all workplace health and safety procedures, ensuring tasks are conducted safely and using PPE as required. Immediately report any safety concerns or incidents to the HR Coordinator or relevant personnel. Undertake detailed investigations of distressed or damaged building structures, identifying causes of damage and recommending appropriate rectification. Prepare clear and comprehensive forensic reports that meet client requirements and project scope. Collaborate with colleagues to peer review reports and ensure high-quality standards. Mentor junior forensic engineers, providing guidance, technical support, and fostering their professional development. Stay informed about ongoing forensic engineering projects to expand knowledge and enhance team learning. Maintain effective communication with clients, insurers, builders, architects, legal teams, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution. Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients to promote customer loyalty and ensure satisfaction. Ensure that all work commences only after receiving written confirmation from the client, not an agent, and aligns with agreed scope, cost, and timeframe. Keep detailed records of project progress, including meeting minutes and correspondence, ensuring proper documentation. Follow internal procedures for job tracking, timesheets, document control, and ensure accurate data management. Foster a positive team environment by sharing knowledge, offering assistance, and encouraging open discussion and idea exchange. Ensure timely completion of all administrative tasks, including responding to internal requests for information or support. Complete and submit timesheets daily, ensuring all time is accurately recorded against individual jobs. Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and report non-conformances, addressing complaints promptly. Skills & Experience Required: Knowledge & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering (required). Chartered Membership of Engineers Australia (MIEAust CPEng) (desirable). Registered Building Practitioner (Civil Engineering) (only applicable in Victoria) (desirable). Membership with the National Professional Engineer Register (NPER) (desirable). Experience in designing residential, commercial, and industrial projects valued up to $20 million (desirable). Familiarity with a broad range of structural design software and programs (desirable). Significant experience in the investigation and analysis of distressed residential and commercial structures (desirable). Skills Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and professional reports (required). Excellent verbal communication skills, able to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively (required). Ability to effectively communicate solutions and ideas to clients, ensuring clarity and understanding (required). Proven ability to maintain and nurture ongoing client relationships, establishing rapport and trust (required). Skilled negotiator with the ability to influence decisions and outcomes (required). Competent in managing project budgets, setting targets, and ensuring successful financial outcomes (required). Proactive in seeking out new business opportunities and expanding the client base (required). Demonstrated expertise in structural engineering analysis and design (required). Proficient in general computing, including email, Windows, and Microsoft Office applications (required). Ability to follow established processes and measure own performance efficiently (required). Strong team player, capable of fostering unity and collaboration within the team (required). Extensive experience in investigating and analysing distressed structures (required).
