About the opportunity We are currently seeking a permanent part time Bus Driver and Handyman to join our Accommodation Service Team at our Moran Engadine home with the ability to support maintenance as required. This role is important to us as it ensures the safe transport of our residents on outings and visits, the maintenance of our residences and the upkeep of our gardens. Shift: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - 08:00am to 16:00pm. We provide a supportive and enjoyable work environment, with modern facilities and the equipment and resources needed to do excel in your role. Education specific to aged care is provided. You will work with a great team of dedicated people and your contribution will make a difference to our residents’ enjoyment of their life every day. Key Responsibilities: The Bus Driver is responsible for transporting our residents and others to various outings / locations / appointments. The Bus Driver is responsible not only for safety and skillful driving, but also being able to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with residents, volunteers and staff. Performance of beginning-shift vehicle inspections before departure and record in log book. Complete risk assessment for each bus route on schedule with all stops, including parking. Transport residents and other passengers - two days per week Obey all traffic laws to ensure passengers arrive to their destination safely Maintain a clean and mechanically sound vehicle at all times Meet safety, quality, and hygiene standards Assist passengers with getting on and off the bus as needed Skills/Requirements: Current NSW Driving Licence Class LR (Light Rigid) Some experience in maintenance would be highly regarded Excellent customer service skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to prioritise tasks and work semi-autonomously Experience and understanding of Legislative requirements for Essential Services and WHS requirements for maintenance & repairs A positive, proactive approach and be well presented at all times Basic Computer skills Knowledge of the aged care industry will be favourably considered Current Police Check and valid working rights.
