About the Role This is an exciting opportunity for three experienced English Language Teachers to teach with RMIT University Pathways (RMIT UP) in Xuzhou, China on an English language program delivered at the China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) . You will be employed initially in RMIT UP to become familiar with and teach our curriculum at our Melbourne campus, before heading to Xuzhou to teach the program at the C UMT . You will be available to join the Melbourne team from April 28 , 202 5 , or as soon after as possible, heading to China prior to the start of the new semester starting on 1 September 202 5 and going through to mid- January 202 6 , with options to extend for one or more semesters . You will be responsible for face-to-face classroom delivery and associated administration of the program . You will be required to liaise with colleagues in both Melbourne and China to provide feedback and contribute to enhancements to the curriculum and program administration. Teaching contact hours will not exceed 40 hours per fortnight. Role Benefits Salary: Appropriate English Language Teacher Classification level based on qualifications and experience (up to AUD $9 9 , 911 based on qualifications and experien ce , as outlined in our Enterprise Agreement ) 11.5% superannuation Overseas teaching allowance of $6,506 per annum pro r ata for the period in China Excellent accommodation close to campus in Xuzhou, in a very safe setting Living Away from Home Allowance (LAFHA) – currently $437 per week . About You To be successful in this position, you will have: Essential Bachelor’s degree or diploma (minimum 3 years full-time study) , Extensive experience in teaching English for Academic Purposes leading to direct university entry , Proven ability to teach across various levels and programs Recognized TESOL/TEFL qualification (CELTA or equivalent) or a relevant undergraduate/postgraduate degree Adaptability in responding to challenging situations Strong understanding of modern teaching, learning, and assessment approaches Commitment to professional development and reflective teaching practices Eligibility for a Chinese Z Visa, including: Full Australian working rights Ability to pass a Chinese work visa health check China Work Visa Health Check Screening | China Expat Health Desirable Previous experience teaching English language courses in an international context; previous experience working in China would be highly advantageous . Previous experience in English language program coordination would be highly advantageous . Qualifications at post-graduate diploma level or higher in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, Education or another relevant field .
