Customer Service Support - Steel Gain experience within an industry providing essential services Australia wide. 12-month temporary assignment Based out of our Port Kembla office. About us Pacific National (PN) is the largest private provider of diversified rail freight services in Australia. We haul a variety of freight including coal, intermodal containers, steel, and a range of bulk commodities and materials that keep the region’s economy, businesses and households running. An opportunity has presented itself for an experienced Customer Service professional to join our team at Port Kembla. About the role Reporting to the Customer Service Lead – Steel, you will be the daily customer interface for the Infrabuild and Liberty Primary Steel planning teams and be the interface between the customers and the centralised planning function at the Planning Services located in North Sydney. Key responsibilities of the Customer Service Officer include: Maintain performance reports, record data & communicate deviations for all steel movements, including major possessions Contribute to the daily/weekly planning and review meetings with Steel customers and Operations staff. Collect and collate data for financial / KPI reporting and customer requirements. Coordinate the various demands of the Steel Business so that all agreed resource orders are satisfied. Liaise with Long- and Short-term planning team on deviations. Liaise with the Planning Services, terminals and customers as required. Liaise with Sales team Address out of course requests by internal and external stakeholders. This is a 12-month temporary assignment and will give you the opportunity to gain experience with an industry leader in the transport and logistics industry. About you With a customer service background, you will have a proven ability to build strong and lasting relationships with both internal and external customers. A naturally strong communicator, both verbal and written, you will have the ability to listen, question and manage challenging conversations. To be successful in this role you will need: Experience in freight planning highly advantageous. Ability to work independently. Strong computer skills. Strong planning and problem-solving skills. High Attention to Detail. Ability to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrate an understanding of business skills and commercial acumen for analysing operational processes.
