Description About the Role Reporting to the General Counsel you will be a key member of Indue with responsibilities for supporting business units, negotiating contracts, supporting RFP and sales processes, representing the Legal team on relevant projects, including those related to regulatory change, providing legal advice, and supporting submissions and responses on industry and regulatory matters. The role will expose you to all areas and levels of the business, and y ou will have an opportunity to work closely with an experienced risk, legal and compliance function. The role includes external engagement with our clients and the opportunity to develop strong relationships internally and externally Key Responsibilities for the role include: Draft new and review existing contracts and agreements with clients. Represent and protect the company’s interests in the negotiation of contracts and terms for large projects or in respect of critical suppliers. Drive continuous improvement and accuracy in all agreements, contracts and legal documents through maintaining an in-depth knowledge of Indue’s products, legal obligations and risk management framework. Investigate, analyse and evaluate commercial and operational issues from legal, contract and risk perspectives and provide recommendations on effective risk mitigation strategies. Provide input into new product development and implementation, particularly in relation to ensuring the effective management of risk and development of compliance programs for all new products. Analyse and evaluate new legislative/regulatory changes and effectively manage in consultation with relevant internal stakeholders any changes required to enable effective compliance. About You You will have all or a majority of the following skills and attributes: Tertiary qualifications in Law and possession of a current unrestricted practising certificate in any Australian state. 8-10 years Post Admission Experience (PAE), including at least 6-7 years legal experience in a senior solicitor role within the financial services and banking industry and IT/software industry with an emphasis on negotiating and drafting complex contracts In-depth experience and understanding of ASIC, ACPA, APRA, BPAY, Visa and MasterCard’s rules, regulatory guides and compliance and experience in payments products such as banking platforms, IT and software products, credit cards, debit cards, prepaid cards, chequing, direct entry and BPAY. Knowledge of banking law; payment scheme rules; PPSA; Corporations Act; contract law; IP law; employment law; and consumer and protection laws. Sounds like you?
