THE ROLE We are looking for a motivated Junior Construction Administrator to join our client-side team, specialising in retail fit outs. In this role, you will provide essential support to the Senior Project Manager by assisting with the administration of contracts and the delivery of retail fit-out projects across Australia. This is a fantastic opportunity for an entry-level professional looking to develop their career in contract administration within the construction and retail sectors. The ideal candidate will have some exposure to contract administration, preferably within the retail or construction industry, and a keen interest in developing their expertise in contract management, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement. Reporting into the Senior Project Manager, this role is responsible for, but not limited to: Contract Support: Assist in the preparation, review, and management of contracts related to retail fit-out projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and Australian construction regulations Tender Management: Help in preparing and distributing tender documentation, evaluating submissions, and assisting in the negotiation of contract terms Project Coordination: Work alongside project managers to track project progress, manage contract timelines, and ensure that project deliverables are met Budget Monitoring and Reporting: Assist with monitoring project budgets, tracking variations, and generating cost reports to support cost control measures Stakeholder Communication: Support communication between internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and clients, to ensure all parties are informed and aligned Compliance and Risk Management: Assist in identifying potential risks within contracts and ensuring compliance with Australian building codes, safety standards, and legal requirements Document Control: Maintain and organise contract documentation, including approvals, variations, and project updates, ensuring that records are kept up to date Claims and Dispute Assistance: Support the resolution of any contract-related disputes by gathering relevant information and coordinating with senior team members to address issues WHO YOU ARE Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role within a like industry Tertiary qualification in Contract Administration, or Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage documentation and track project progress Excellent written and verbal communication skills for liaising with project teams, internal departments, and external contractors A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn the intricacies of contract administration and retail fit-out processes WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?
