Warehouse Manager - Sydney Warehouse — Alexandria, Inner West

C.H. Robinson is currently seeking a Warehouse Manager to oversee daily warehouse operations and staff management in Sydney. As the Warehouse Manager, you would be responsible for assisting the warehouse team with training, coaching, and overseeing the overall operational process. You would ensure safe warehouse operations, ensuring that freight is loaded/unloaded from trailers or ocean containers and moved within the warehouse in an efficient manner. This role requires an individual who is a people leader, reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-minded, and who can thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. You would have knowledge and working experience in international freight facilities, maintaining compliance with 77G and RACA requirements, coordinating transport with airlines and CTOs, and handling domestic distribution. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following: Assisting with training/coaching of warehouse team Assisting warehouse team to ensure process is followed according to SOPs Utilizing and assisting warehouse team (includes training and troubleshooting) in the utilization of Warehouse Management System (WMS) to ensure proper warehouse organization Manage assignments as delegated to the warehouse team Receiving goods on behalf of customers and suppliers: Offloading and loading vehicles, manual handling, checking paperwork, weighing, measuring, booking in freight, and reporting discrepancies in freight or paperwork, including damages Operation of stand-up, sit-down forklifts and hand jacks; Palletization of loose and floor loaded cargo, stretch wrap and/or band Unloading/loading of trailers/ocean containers in a professional and damage free manner Preparing outbound loads to depart warehouse: Matching paperwork with freight, labeling, ULD preparation and handling Accurately signing off Bills of Lading, verifying counts and/or damages Staging cargo within the warehouse in a safe and orderly manner Execute on all expectations surrounding quality per SOP or other customer requirements including reworking or recouping of freight Handling of logistics accounts, picking, packing, inventory reporting/stock checks as needed according to client-specific SOP Maintains the flow of materials and products in warehouses with varying degrees Routinely exceeds performance standards, i.e.; established KPI’s Make sound recommendations related to process improvement, problem resolution and/or efficiency gains Regular duties include cross-functional areas such as; receiving, loading, picking, shipping, etc. Responsible for general housekeeping to ensure warehouse standards of cleanliness and organization are maintained. This may include sweeping, consolidation of product, maintaining inventories and other tasks as needed Completion of weekly bond checks and inventory stock-taking Maintaining building and perimeter security, securing alarm systems, and challenging anything or anyone untoward Handling of Unit Load Devices (ULD’s), to prepare, build and break, strapping and consolidation of freight for exported goods as required Handling of bonded import freight into the facility in accordance with regulations and breakdown of inbound ULD’s as required Execute high compliance with 77G, RACA, X-Ray Screening of all freight and maintain certification and audit scores. Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements Required Qualifications: Minimum 3 years Warehouse Managing Experience in international freight facilities that are RACA/77G certified and compliant Understanding of international transport coordination with airlines and CTOs and final domestic distribution. Possess good physical stamina and coordination. Could be required to stand and/or walk for long periods daily while frequently bending, twisting, reaching and periodically lifting up to 25kg.
