Multimedia Designer Full-time / Melbourne (Hybrid) Base salary: $73,150-75,000 exclusive of super Junior Major is seeking a talented and experienced Multimedia Designer to join our team. This role is critical to the design and delivery of digital artworks, interactive media, and immersive experiences across our cultural and museum projects. The successful candidate will work closely with our creative, production, and technical teams to deliver engaging, visually striking content - from early concept development through to final production. The position requires strong design sensibility, illustration skills, animation skills, and comfort working across screen-based formats and public environments. This is a full-time role based in Melbourne. Key responsibilities: Sketches: Create simple, stylised hand-drawn scamps to visualise initial ideas and storyboard visitor flows and interactions, helping to communicate concepts. Visualisation: Produce artworks across various styles for visualisations of concepts and ideas. This includes 2D visualisations and assets for use by our in-house 3D artist. Artworking: Develop illustrations, graphics, and other assets for digital and print, helping to execute within and contribute to a style and direction that aligns with Junior Major’s wider design philosophies. Take projects from concept through to final design. Motion Graphics: Bring digital interactive content to life with simple motion graphics. UI/UX Art: Design user experience and produce user interfaces for digital interactives. Project Support: Assist with wider design team tasks when needed, including print and digital design (UI design for our interactives), and in some cases, deck work. New Business Support: Perform your responsibilities in aid of winning new business when required e.g. on pitches and proactive work. Studio Support: Assist with social post illustrations and animations, branding assets for decks, website, and sometimes merchandising. Collaboration: Collaborate with developers, producers, and other creatives to realise complex, multidisciplinary works, contribute to the art direction and visual development of projects, pitches for new work and proactive projects Essential criteria: A degree in multimedia design, visual communication, or a related field Minimum 5 years’ industry experience in a design role Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop), Figma, and motion graphics tools A strong portfolio showing work across interactive installations, animation, or digital storytelling Experience in working with cross-functional teams and managing timelines Desired criteria: Further education in Concept Art and or Illustration would be highly preferred. Spanish-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply. We are currently collaborating with a Spanish-speaking contractor on a largescale project, so this is considered a bonus. Experience in the cultural or museum sector.
