Senior Engineer Risk and Safety — Jandakot, Cockburn Area

ATCO Gas owns and operates Western Australia's largest gas distribution network, with over 750,000 connection points and 14,000km of pipelines. ATCO also operates two progressive power generation stations - in Adelaide and the Pilbara. We are seeking a qualified and experienced engineer with a passion for safety and risk management to join our team as a Senior Engineer Risk and Safety in Jandakot, WA. Reporting to the Manager of Technical Compliance, you will play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining ATCO Safety Cases, and ensuring the safe operation of our gas distribution network. What You Will Do: Lead the review and revision of ATCO Safety Cases and dangerous goods facility review in accordance with relevant legislative requirements. Conduct and coordinate Formal Safety Assessments (FSAs), including Hazard Identification studies, qualitative risk assessments, Safety Management Studies and Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies. Prepare, coordinate and conduct Technical Compliance audits in line with the ATCO audit framework. Support technical changes in accordance with the management of change process. Support implementation of the ATCO’s corrective and risk management action system Review and revise Safety Management System documentation. Supervise Risk and Safety Engineers, overseeing the delivery of Technical Compliance safety assurance functions. Liaise as required with the relevant regulatory bodies, including Department of Mines, Energy, Industrial Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS). Essential Qualifications: University degree in Engineering or Science. Proven experience in process safety. Extensive experience with risk management principles and techniques, including HAZOP Studies and various qualitative and semi-quantitative risk assessment methods. Experience in auditing or reviewing safety management systems in hazardous industries. Desirable Qualifications: Extensive knowledge and experience with Safety Case regimes, particularly in petroleum pipelines or gas distribution. Lead HAZOP facilitator qualification. Experience in developing, reviewing and revising Safety Cases and safety management systems and procedures in hazardous industries. Lead auditor qualification.
