Location: All Locations Working Arrangement: Hybrid Security clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline clearance Key duties and responsibilities : The Network Engineer will oversee the daily operations and ensure the smooth execution of business-as-usual processes within the ICT Networks & Infrastructure Platforms section of the ICT Operations Branch at CIOD. This role will involve the management and provision of various network services, including PROTECTED, OFFICIAL, and UNOFFICIAL networks across both on-premise and cloud environments. The engineer will handle critical network hardware such as Cisco, Citrix, F5, and Fortinet devices, alongside managing switches, routers, firewalls, and SD-WAN. They will also ensure secure internet access, oversee the management of telephony systems (including Microsoft Teams and Cisco), and support video conferencing hardware and software. Additionally, the engineer will provide third-level ICT support for DISR business applications. LH-02400 Requirements Response must be as a one-page pitch addressing the essential criteria: Essential Criteria: Experience with a range of technologies such as LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, IPSEC/SSL VPNs, Voice/Video, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SMTP, HTTP/S. Proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues in complex environments, along with strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to collaborate effectively with technical teams, present to staff and stakeholders, and mentor colleagues. Extensive experience in designing, managing, optimising, and troubleshooting Cisco routing and switching technologies, including VPLS, MPLS, BGP, DMVPN, SD-WAN, GRE, IPSEC, 802.1q, VRF, EIGRP, HSRP, ACLs, Port Security, and AAA. Experience with firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet), load balancing (Citrix NetScaler, F5), Azure network troubleshooting, and Cisco wireless technologies (Cisco 9800 series Wireless LAN Controllers). Demonstrated knowledge and experience in designing, managing, optimising, and troubleshooting VPN technologies like Citrix Access Gateway and Microsoft, as well as working with VMware, Windows, and Linux environments. Experience in Digital Transformation, using Enterprise Architecture tools and methodologies, developing cost models, providing cost management advice, working with authentication frameworks, creating roadmaps, and architecting and utilising whole-of-government capabilities in enterprise solutions. This includes cross-agency collaboration and negotiation. Strong capacity for independent, analytical thinking and problem-solving at a high level.
