About the Role We are seeking 5-10 EASTER & SCHOOL HOLIDAY CASUALS Energetic & reliable dog and cat lovers are needed for the busy Easter & School Holidays to join our team of passionate Pet Care & Animal Attendants at our Heathcote Pet Hotel & Doggy Daycare located in Sydney’s South . Candidates will be required to work 38 hours per week during our Easter peak period which includes the four-day Easter Weekend AND the School Holidays . Outside of the School Holidays, the shifts on offer will vary depending on business needs and could fluctuate between 1-5 shifts per week. Successful candidates must be available to work the Easter public holidays (from Good Friday through to Easter Monday) and the entire school holiday period . Hours of work include weekdays and weekends: Shifts are rostered between the hours of 7am and 3pm Occasionally hours may be from 11am to 7pm Some shifts may include early starts at 6am Key accountabilities: animal welfare, cleaning, and customer service. These roles are responsible for the provision of high quality pet welfare and care for both boarding pet guests and doggy daycare guests which includes cleaning kennels , feeding pets, basic washing/grooming and enrichment/exercising of pets. Our Pet Care & Animal Attendants also provide excellent customer service when engaging with our clients at pick up and drop off. 4-day Training & Safety Induction Program To ensure our Pet Care Attendants are well-prepared and sufficiently trained to perform their duties when peak period starts, they must participate in a 4-Day Training & Safety Induction Program . This means the successful candidates MUST attend at least four paid WEEKDAY Training & Induction Shifts at Heathcote prior to the School Holidays starting . One of these shifts is for a Safety Induction on EITHER Thursday, 3 April or Thursday 10 April (not both) from 11:30am to 3:00pm . NB: If you cannot/do not attend your assigned Weekday Training & Safety Induction Shifts prior to the school holidays starting, your application will be disqualified. About You You are reliable, motivated and experienced in caring for animals , with genuine affection for cats and dogs. To be a high performer in this role, you will be: Available to attend Heathcote on four weekdays (during the 2 weeks prior to the School Holidays) to participate in the compulsory paid 4-day Training & Safety Induction Program. Available to work Monday to Sunday inclusive and have availability to work 38 hours of shifts during Easter school holidays/peak periods . Have the flexibility to cover other unplanned absences at short notice from time to time. Experienced working in vet clinics, doggy daycares, kennels or catteries (HIGHLY DESIRABLE). Certified in animal studies and/or companion animal services (preferred). A licensed driver with your own car (and clean driving record) to get to/from work. Prepared to jump at the chance to help others in your team . Able to work at a brisk pace and carry out tasks to required timeframes. Able to work independently , and willing to ask for guidance for more complex matters. A good communicator and positive person who enjoys teamwork . Committed to working safely , and following Standard Operating Procedures . Willing and able to adhere to Hanrob Pet Hotels’ operating procedures and Work Health & Safety requirements at all times. IMPORTANT: This is an active and physical role working across the Pet Hotel. The incumbents will be required to work indoors and outdoors (sometimes in inclement weather conditions), and in close proximity to cats and dogs, on their feet for a significant portion of their day. They must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, bend, crouch, kneel, squat, reach, stretch, and restrain animals up to 50kg on leads, communicate, speak, and interact with team members, customers, internal and external stakeholders, and members of the public in person, in order to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
