Automation Engineer - Kalgoorlie — Somerville, Kalgoorlie Area

Infotech People have been exclusively retained by our client, who is the Australian arm of a bigger global mining and explosives group. Due to continued growth, we are on the lookout for an Automation Engineer to join an existing successful team in Kalgoorlie. There is a real opportunity here, once proven, to move into an Automation Manager role as the team inevitably grows. The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and not be afraid to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty if required. They are an exceptional communicator who are happy to share knowledge and train other staff members. Role and Responsibilities: Installing, programming, and maintaining complex Industrial Control Systems, which form part of a complex Automation Systems with lots of moving parts. ie, Robotics and Machine Vision. Knowledge of safe work practices within mining and explosives. Troubleshooting and diagnosis of plant control system problems Undertake modifications and design initiatives on production equipment Maintain documentation for both electrical and automation systems Skills & Experience Required: Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or equivalent. Must have a minimum of 3 years of industry experience working in an Automation & Robotics environment Advanced PLC knowledge with Allan Bradley PLC Experience with Machine Vision, HMI GP Pro, Festo servos Valving, SICK safety PLC, and KUKA robotics. (MUST HAVE at least 4 out of the 7) Demonstrated experience using spreadsheets, databases, and word processing applications. Both Electrical and Mechanical aptitude. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Highly Advantageous: A Grade Electrical license of any Australian state. Mechanical Trade Certificate.
