The Chief Information Officer Division (CIOD) provides a range of enabling services and operations delivery to the department and to Australian businesses and is seeking an experienced and motivated Infrastructure Platforms Engineer to assist the Infrastructure Platforms team within the ICT Operations Branch of CIOD. Requirements Key duties and responsibilities The Department primarily uses Microsoft Azure, M365, Dynamics365, and DevOps platforms. The Infrastructure Platforms Engineer’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following: Data centre management support Hardware & Server Management (HPE Synergy, Dell, etc) Storage management: responsible for deploying, configuring, managing and tuning the department’s storage systems at physical and virtual layers, responsible for managing Storage Area Network Switches, etc. Storage hardware: HPE, NetApp, Dell Data Domain, Brocade Fabric Switches, SANnav, etc Backup configuration and management and disaster recovery: Veeam software, Dell Data Domain Virtualisation & Automation - VMware vSphere, vRealize, VMware Aria Automation, Orchestrator, Operations, NSX-T, etc Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters. Essential criteria Weighting 1. Demonstrated experience in understanding business requirements for Azure based cloud environments. 30% 2. Experience implementing solutions for cloud workloads on the Azure platform. 30% 3. Ability to build productive relationships and work with stakeholders including enterprise architecture groups, cyber security teams, and cloud operations to secure design approval. 25% 4. Demonstrated experience applying information security concepts and best practices including Information Security Manual (ISM). 15% Desirable criteria 1. Experience with a broad range of cloud technologies including Azure AI, ML and Cognitive services, Data Solutions, DevOps, CI/CD, Integration solutions, and API/Services Oriented Architecture. 2. Ability to work with limited guidance in an Agile environment.
