The Environmental Permitting and Compliance Division (EPCD) plays a pivotal role in protecting and sustainably managing our land, water, air, and wildlife for the benefit of the Australian and international community. The division oversees regulatory schemes integral to environmental protection, including international wildlife trade, air quality, contaminated sites, waste management, and sea dumping. EPCD also provides a centralised compliance and enforcement capability, working with business, industry, government and the community to improve compliance with national environmental laws. The division focusses on serious non-compliance and also monitors compliance with the conditions of project approvals granted under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. Work within the Executive office to provide support to the Divisional Executives on a day to day basis. The EPCD Regulatory Support and Strategic Engagement Section provides strategic support for the Division and its Senior Executive, including a central point of coordination and linkage across the Wildlife, Waste and Environmental Permitting Branch, the Compliance and Enforcement Branch, and key stakeholders. The key duties of the position include Your duties will include: Management of the divisional mailbox responding to a wide variety of data governance-related enquires and managing stakeholder enquiries. Supporting the team administration processes including updating SharePoint content and internet publishing. Supporting data governance projects and whole of government reporting and initiatives. Building stakeholder relationships. Support the wider team as required.
