Our Federal Government Client is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer. This is a long-term contract role with an initial duration of 12 months and two possible 12-month extensions, located at our client’s premises in Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide. Other locations such as Perth, Bunbury, Sydney, Newcastle, and Wollongong may be considered. Contractors must work onsite a minimum of 1 day per week. As the selected candidate, you will: Develop data collection or monitoring solutions to meet business requirements. Maintain in-house Capacity Management system tool (Compass) along with other monitoring tools. Implement data collection methods across different platforms and technologies. Implement data collection feeds from other monitoring tools and configuration databases (Grafana, VROPS, Elastic, Prometheus, etc.). Maintain architectural documentation to support Compass. Develop reporting solutions to meet business requirements. Produce dashboards as required. Add reporting capabilities into Compass as required. Assist with investigations or analysis into the capacity or performance of applications and systems. Assist in Java development, SQL, Unix, or Docker. Provide architectural directions for capacity alerting and reporting solutions. Mentor and coach team members, including skills and knowledge transfer. Liaise with Platform teams, Development Teams, and Project Teams to ensure appropriate capacity monitoring is implemented. To be successful in this role you should have: Proficiency in IT infrastructure provisioning, installation, configuration, and maintenance. Experience in monitoring, measuring, and reporting on infrastructure load, performance, and security events.Softtestpays1Talent International1 Ability to identify operational issues and contribute to their resolution. Experience in carrying out agreed operational procedures, including backup/restore, using supplied infrastructure tools and scripts. Skills in automating routine system administration tasks using standard tools and basic scripting. Experience in designing, coding, verifying, testing, documenting, amending, and refactoring simple programs/scripts. Familiarity with applying agreed standards and tools to achieve well-engineered results. Experience in installing or removing hardware and/or software using supplied installation instructions and tools. Ability to use standard procedures and diagnostic tools to test installations, correct problems, and document results. Experience in recording details of all components that have been installed and removed. Ability to assist users and follow agreed procedures for further help or escalation. Contribution to the development of installation procedures and standards. It is desirable if you have: Experience with primary technologies such as JAVA, SQL (PostGRES), Grafana, GitLab, Ansible, VROPS, Elastic, Prometheus, and LPAR2RRD.
