We’re looking for a dedicated Assistant in Nursing (AIN) to provide support in the delivery of care. About the Role: The Assistant in Nursing at this level supports Enrolled and Registered Nurses/Midwives in the delivery of general patient/client care and undertakes basic nursing duties that would otherwise have been performed by an Enrolled or Registered Nurse/Midwife. Employees at this level are accountable for their own actions and work independently while assisting in the delivery of high-quality care. In this role, you will support Enrolled and Registered Nurses/Midwives in providing general patient and client care, ensuring that each individual receives the necessary care and attention in their home environment. You will undertake basic nursing duties, such as monitoring vital signs, assisting with personal care needs, and supporting clients with activities of daily living. These tasks are crucial in maintaining the comfort and well-being of the individuals in your care. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure that care plans are followed appropriately. Your role will involve maintaining accurate records of patient and client care, helping to track progress and identifying any concerns or changes in health status. Should any issues arise, you will report these to senior nursing staff for further evaluation and action. You will ensure that all care delivery is safe, efficient, and compliant with healthcare regulations. This includes adhering to best practices, respecting cultural considerations, and ensuring that the care provided meets both regulatory and personal needs. What We’re Looking For: Be enrolled as a student in an undergraduate program in nursing or midwifery (can state year of program eg 3rd year) and have completed any training required by the employer relevant to the safe and competent performance of work at this level; OR Be employed on the basis that the person is, or will be, undertaking a course approved by the Registration Authority for the preparation of Enrolled Nurses; OR Hold a Certificate III or IV in one of the following health related disciplines: Basic Health Care; Aged Care; Health Services Assistance: (Qualifications to include elective units recommended for AIN Acute care); Home and Community Care; Individual Support Work; Or such other nationally recognised courses approved within the healthcare setting by full agreement of DHA and the ANMF Experience, within the boundaries of their education and skill preparation, in the provision of nursing/midwifery care in the healthcare setting in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
