You will ensure participants receive the support they need while fostering a positive and collaborative team environment. You are a self-starter who is innovative, adaptable, and flexible in how you work. As Bunji’s services continue to grow, you will help drive this expansion while supporting our Disability Support Workers and participants, both directly and indirectly. This is a full-time role that requires flexibility across the week. While primarily Monday to Friday, some evening or weekend work may occasionally be required to support participants and team members. Key objectives include: Conduct regular check-ins with team members to provide guidance, ensure they have the necessary resources, and foster a positive work environment; Assist with training, induction, and competency assessments to maintain high skill levels across the team; Support new participants, including those with complex needs, ensuring their choice and control are upheld; Meet with participants to review progress, provide guidance, and deliver direct support when required; Perform services or buddy shifts as needed to support participants and team members; Maintain accurate records of care plans, participant progress, and outcomes, and prepare reports as required; Represent Bunji at relevant forums and contribute to the growth of our services; Manage multiple priorities while working independently, staying informed about sector changes and best practices; Balance the needs of participants, carers, and team members while maintaining professionalism and setting achievable goals; Identify areas for improvement, contribute insights to senior management, and help enhance team effectiveness; Ensure compliance with health and safety, privacy, and quality standards. Who we’re looking for: You are a compassionate and proactive leader who thrives in a team environment and is passionate about supporting people with disabilities. You have: a Certificate IV or higher in Disability Support or a relevant field; at least three (3) years’ experience in a Disability Support Worker role or similar; a strong ability to mentor and support team members; sound knowledge of NDIS implementation and sector requirements; familiarity with CRM systems and care plan completion; a proactive, flexible, and innovative approach to problem-solving; strong interpersonal and communication skills; effective time management and organisational abilities; empathy and patience to navigate challenges with participants and staff; a commitment to inclusivity and cultural competence. Successful candidates will also have: a current NDIS Worker Screening Check; a current Working With Children Check; access to reliable insured vehicle and a current Drivers Licence; a minimum of three COVID-19 vaccination doses; a current annual Influenza vaccination.
