About the Role: The role is primarily responsible for the coordination of a range of activities that support the Government financial activities to meet organisational and statutory objectives. The role raises accounts receivable invoices, customer creation, debtors chasing, raise purchase orders for certain sections for the Department and confirmations in the SAP financial accounting system. Assists with month-end activities such as journal preparation and provides clear and timely advice on financial processing matters to staff in multiple locations. Start Date: ASAP End Date: 19/12/2025 Pay Rate: $51.10 to $56.37 plus super Hours Work Arrangements: Hybrid (3 days CBD / 2 WFH) Work hours: 8 hours per day / 40 hours per week Key Responsibilities: Support the Associated Director, Corporate Finance and provide operational support and coordination of successful operational and reporting outcomes. Work collaboratively with team members to support policies, programs and documentation that guide internal customers in the implementation of effective financial management, in accordance with legislation and related business reforms. Monitor, review and analyse financial systems and databases to generate reports that provide accurate advice and information for staff, management and external agencies. Access financial systems to investigate and resolve directorate and customers’ operational issues and to maintain the integrity of corporate databases Effectively apply new and/or updated technology applications, systems, procedures and organisational methods to deliver efficient and effective service in accordance with Department policy and the Directorate’s business practices and protocols. Applications include SAP, Objective, MS Office and other technologies appropriate to the operations of the business unit, for example PowerPoint and web technologies. Provide advice and support to staff on financial policy and procedures, relevant legislation and operating service standards, including the training of staff where necessary in these areas. Assist with liaising with the Audit Office in the yearly audit of the Department’s accounts. Undertake ad hoc activities as an when requested to deliver Branch or Department’s objectives. Qualifications & Experience: Mandatory: Tertiary qualifications in Finance or Accounting and/or equivalent workplace experience.
