This exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our head office team, working closely with our Head of HSE, Risk and Compliance for the Group and leading a team of engaged and motivated HSE Advisors in driving the JLG safety culture within our operational teams. This position would suit someone who already has health and safety experience in the building and construction industry and experience in, or motivation to, lead and develop a team of HSE professionals. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Foster a strong safety culture by promoting safe practices and behaviours across the Group, driving standards and performance measures. Oversee the development and progression of HSE Advisors, including implementation and monitoring of KPIs that are in place to improve culture, performance and compliance. Identify and assess HSE risks, and create effective strategies to control risks at a site, project and broader business level. This includes the completion of site inspections and audits to manage critical risks and drive education and awareness of workers. Investigate and report on incidents or accidents, providing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence based on the root causes / contributing factors. This includes dealing with Regulators or other Clients as required. Monitor and track performance metrics to evaluate performance, preparing reports for management and businesses as required. Be involved in the implementation and delivery of strategic projects in line with the Group’s strategy, objectives and initiatives, working with internal stakeholders as required. Delivery of engagement and communication strategies in line with strategic workplans involving collaboration with managers, staff and subcontractors. Ensure compliance with legal obligations on matters of health, safety and environment, emergency management and first aid. Work closely with the Head of HSE, Risk and Compliance to continuously improve HSE and operational practices, ensuring alignment with best practice industry standards and technological advances. Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge: Qualification in Work Health & Safety is essential Previous experience in the Building and Construction industry Previous experience as a team leader or manager desirable, however not essential provided you have the competencies we value Ability to build and sustain strong relationships with internal & external stakeholders, influencing safe outcomes and results Superior communication skills, both written & verbal across different levels of management, front line staff and contractors Results driven, adaptable, excellent organisational skills & attention to detail Ability to manage multiple/competing priorities & make quick decisions Problem solving & process implementation skills Ability to analyse & interpret data, laws & regulations Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint Valid driver licence, WWC (preferred) & construction White Card We are a company of integrity and diversity.
