The Position A terrific opportunity has arisen for a 2-3 year PQE lawyer with commercial law and/or in-house experience to join our in-house legal team. You will work alongside two experienced lawyers in our Australia and New Zealand business, receiving great legal and commercial training and the opportunity to work with different business units on a wide variety of matters. The role will provide legal assistance across all areas of the business, advising on tenders, reviewing and negotiating general commercial contracts, leases and IT agreements, drafting bespoke commercial agreements, advising on complaints and litigation, and working with the business generally to manage business risks. The Person The successful candidate will be self-motivated, possess a strong customer service ethic and a “can do” attitude. They will be a confident communicator with the ability to work effectively under pressure both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have: 2 - 3 years PQE, preferably with exposure to a corporate in-house environment or commercial law if currently in private practice Current Australian legal practising certificate Experience in reviewing and drafting commercial contracts and professional communications Good technical legal skills and attention to detail Able to problem solve, providing considered and commercial solutions Highly developed interpersonal skills It is essential that the candidate embraces Opteon’s values, which are “Make it Safe”, “Have Courage”, “Strive for Excellence”, “Act with Integrity” and “Be Connected”.
