The key duties of the position include The Role Working as part of the engineering team you will be given the unique opportunity to shape the delivery of an engineering and technical program which will provide a significant life-of-type and capability upgrade to the High Assurance Cryptographic Equipment (HACE) across digital data/voice, IP and radio frequency domains as used throughout Defence. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team the APS 6 Engineer will work with partners from industry and other Defence groups to guide the design, development, integration and evaluation of the IASPO cryptographic program. The APS 6 Engineer will be responsible for exercising assigned engineering authorities and any Technical Regulatory Authority delegations to ensure that IASPO supplied materiel is both safe and fit-for-service. Our Ideal Candidate Information Assurance Systems Program Office (IASPO), within Defence's Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), is seeking a professional engineer with high level competence to work in acquisition and sustainment of modern cryptographic equipment providing secure communications capabilities to the Australian Defence Force (ADF). Our Ideal Candidate: Skills and experience in Defence systems engineering, ideally with insight into communications and cryptographic systems. Experience analysing engineering risks and assisting stakeholders with mitigation options. Effective problem solving and deductive reasoning skills. An ability to contribute to a diverse team on complex projects. The capacity to think strategically, develop plans and processes to enhance the achievement of business outcomes.
