About the role : Year 2 Classroom Teacher - Terms 3 & 4, 2025 Employment Type: Permanent Part Time (0.8 FTE) Start Date: 21 July 2025 For a full job description, please click here . This contract position at South Coast Baptist College is for Terms 3 & 4 of 2025, with the potential to become ongoing. The role involves teaching one of three Year 2 classes in a Primary School of 680 students (Kindergarten to Year 6), following the West Australian Curriculum. It is a four-day-per-week position, with possible opportunities for full-time employment. Position Requirements: Deliver the Western Australian Curriculum in English, Mathematics, Science, HASS, Health, and Design Technologies. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons. Assess and monitor student progress. Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment. Experience with the Reggio Emilia approach is desirable. Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom culture. Handover from the current staff member in Term 2. Common DOTT time provided for team collaboration. Selection Criteria: Hold a valid teaching qualification and registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia, demonstrating a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum, particularly for Year 2. Experience in planning and delivering high-quality educational programs, with a focus on English, Mathematics, Science, HASS, and the Arts. Possess excellent classroom management skills, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of students. Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, effectively collaborating with colleagues, parents, and the broader school community. Demonstrate a commitment to the values and ethos of an independent/private school, along with the ability to inspire and engage students in their learning. Experience with the Reggio Emilia approach is desirable. Essential Criteria: A personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ. Active participation in a church or Christian community, exemplifying Christian beliefs, behaviour , and practices. Acceptance of the College’s Statement of Faith . Ability to build cooperative and supportive relationships with the Board, Principal, staff, students, and parents. Commitment to personal best practice. Ensure decisions are impartial, fact-based, and fair. Model appropriate and proper channels of communication. Consistently act in the best interests of the College and its ethos.
