Koorana is currently looking for experienced, energetic and collaborative Early Childhood Educators to join our team on a casual/as needs basis. Casuals would be working across our: • Department of Education Licensed Inclusive Preschools located at Roselands and Lakemba and soon at Bass Hill • Supported Playgroups Team • Start Strong Pathways Team About the Role Koorana’s Early Childhood Educators contribute to the operation of an inclusive preschool program or work in collaboration with the Supported Playgroups and Start Strong Pathways teams in running Supported Playgroups in indoor and outdoor venues across the Bankstown and Canterbury Local Government Area. They work collaboratively with the wider Preschool, Supported Playgroups and Start Strong Pathway teams to help deliver quality early childhood education programs which reflect the goals of the National Quality Curriculum Framework. They will also: • Model a quality early childhood learning program. • Implement a play-based learning program. • Model professionalism, advocacy and representation. • Maintain effective communication to support the successful delivery of service to children and families. • Adhere to national regulations, as outlined in Koorana’s Preschool Policies and Procedures. About You To be successful in this role, you will need: • Experience working with children and parents and carers in their parenting role. • Ability to engage children in age and developmentally appropriate activities and experiences. • Passionate about play-based education practice. • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritise, plan ahead, anticipate risks and problem solve. • Have a sound understanding of inclusive practice. • Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally diverse community. • To be a team player. • Have a high standard of verbal and written communication skills. Qualifications & Certifications • A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (Certificate 3 or Diploma). • Working with Children Check. • National Police Check. • 2 x Covid-19 vaccination or have an approved medical contraindication certificate.
