POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should have relevant experience with Autodesk Inventor and Vault software, and a strong background in mechanical design and engineering principles, particularly in the design of pressure vessels per ASME and AS1210 codes. Salary ranging from $75,000 - $85,000 plus super. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop detailed mechanical designs and drawings using Autodesk Inventor. Manage and control the life cycle of design data using Autodesk Vault. Prepare BOM and maintain them using Autodesk Vault PDM. Design pressure vessels in compliance with ASME and AS1210 codes. Create and maintain technical documentation, including BOMs, change requests, and ECO. Create and maintain technical documentation, including BOMs, assembly instructions, and maintenance manuals. Carry out and review Engineering calculations to ensure they are consistent with SMARDT’s design intent and the applicable codes. Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during the manufacturing process. Provide assistance to production related to design and BOM-related queries. Carry out classical engineering calculations and generate calculation sheets. Other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS To be successful in this role you will: A minimum of bachelor’s degree is required in Mechanical Engineering (essential). Experience with Inventor and Vault PDM is highly preferred. Experience with ASME and AS1210 Pressure Vessel Codes is essential. Experience with ASME (UHX) and TEMA for pressure vessel and heat exchanger design. Experience in a similar role (minimum 1 year) is essential. Knowledge of FEA, CFD, and PV Elite (or similar PV calc software) is a plus. This is a great opportunity to join a global company based locally in Bayswater North.
