Exercise Physiologist (Casual) — Frankston Area, Melbourne Region

Your role at St John of God Frankston Rehabilitation Hospital As a Grade 1 Exercise Physiologist you will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical exercise physiology services patients using evidence based clinical practice skills. You will ensure practice is in accordance with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) Code of Professional Conduct and Ethical Practice and SJGHC policies and guidelines. The Position Demonstrated ability to prescribe, deliver and supervise individual and group remedial and maintenance exercise programs for patients attending the service, including but not limited to gym and/or hydrotherapy. Contributes to the delivery of high quality, compassionate, safe clinical services within a range of settings i.e. Inpatient, Outpatient, or home/community based settings. Responsible for completing appropriate administrative duties arising from each session instructed. This requires liaison with the office administration team, reporting of statistical data and completion of clinical documentation. Develop appropriate treatment goals and plans for all patients/clients in collaboration with other team members. Active participation in the multidisciplinary team. Referrals to external agencies are initiated in a timely manner. Uses an evidence-based, problem solving approach to clinical care and service development. Demonstrates consolidated, current knowledge of research, evidence based practice in Exercise Physiology and related clinical areas. As relevant, supervises and supports Allied Health Assistants and students to deliver effective services. The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology, Sports Science (or similar) and be eligible for accreditation with the Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) and for a Medicare Provider number. A current drivers licence is essential. To succeed, you will have experience in assessment, exercise prescription, monitoring and progressions for special population using evidence-based practices in therapy (e.g. Musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiac and metabolic conditions).
