Fibre Deployment and Construction Project Manager — Sydney, Sydney Region

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager with expertise in both project management and deployment to support the successful rollout of their Dark Fibre Network in Sydney CBD This role is essential in ensuring smooth project execution, contractor compliance, and high-quality outcomes. This is a desk-based role , requiring 5 days in the office with oversight responsibilities over subcontractors and internal work crews, ensuring that fieldwork activities are conducted safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Project management of the construction of the various components of a Pit and Pipe Network to support high-density Fibre Optic Infrastructure. Overseeing quality control and access to construction. Collating and inputting “As Built” drawings and documentation into company systems. Multi-tasking and prioritising tasks efficiently. Internal and external stakeholder management—building relationships with key clients, contractors, councils, and regulatory bodies. Engaging external stakeholders (Councils, Building Managers & Authorities). Monitoring and reporting on contractor performance—implementing immediate remedial actions when required. Ensuring compliance with all contractual requirements and industry standards. Managing the ordering and delivery of third-party services required for customer service deployment. Assessing, identifying, and recording project risks and maintaining an appropriate Risk/Hazard Register. Ensuring legislative and regulatory compliance in providing a safe and healthy workplace. Delivering program management plans and reporting on overall project status, risks, and corrective actions. Ensuring the contractor is not in breach of any undertaking. Skills & Experience Required Extensive experience in the construction of Fibre Optic Networks and associated equipment. Previous experience managing civil construction and fibre deployment projects. Strong knowledge of Telstra DCAF and related procedures. An understanding of the Land Access & Activity Notice (LAAN) process. Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, Google Earth Pro, and Visio. Extensive experience in the Telecommunications Industry Strong technical knowledge of fibre optics is highly desirable. Proven experience in Project Management with the ability to oversee end-to-end deployment. About the Role Permanent full-time position ASAP start available .
