This is a part time, 6 month fixed term contract to cover a parental leave Seafolly are seeking a Senior Pattern Maker to join our team within the Swim and Apparel category. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise patterns and overseeing product development activities for allocated stories. You will ensure that all garments meet design, technical, and quality standards while aligning with cost and manufacturing feasibility. Key Responsibilities: Pattern Making & Specifications: Accurately create patterns based on design specifications provided by the design team. Ensure design details are clearly documented in tech packs and effectively communicated to stakeholders and offshore suppliers. Modify patterns and tech packs as required based on design or sample feedback. Grade patterns according to established grading rules and requirements. Utilize AP21 to maintain accurate tech packs, including Make Details, Measurement Specifications, and Bill of Materials throughout the product lifecycle. Participate in garment fittings and ensure garments are tracked and ready for fitting according to specifications and deadlines. Product Commercialisation: Develop garments that meet design, technical, and quality standards, maximizing commercialisation opportunities. Cost new designs and fabrics to ensure products remain within target cost range. Apply garment construction and manufacturing re-engineering to optimise cost without sacrificing innovation. Ensure strict adherence to Quality Standards, ensuring that manufacturing techniques meet the required specifications. Stay current with market trends, manufacturing techniques, and raw materials, helping maintain the brand’s market leadership position. Story & Critical Path Management: Ensure all development activities meet the timeframes required from pattern creation to final production approval, aligning with Critical Path milestones. Oversee product-related quality issues and lead corrective actions to prevent production delays. Maintain and update product data in AP21 to ensure product information is accurate and complete. What You Need to Succeed: Experience in technical garment and pattern engineering, ideally within swimwear, lingerie, or apparel. Proficiency with Gerber or other patternmaking CAD software is essential. Experience using AP21 is a plus. Strong skills in preparing detailed technical specifications. Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator. A passion for innovation, continual improvement, and product development.
