About the role We are seeking compassionate and experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will provide personalised support to clients with higher needs, including challenging behaviours and Autism Spectrum Disorder. You will play a vital role in ensuring their unique needs are met through tailored support, fostering an environment of respect, dignity, and independence. What will I be doing? Implement and follow Positive Behaviour Support strategies to offer consistent, tailored support. Encourage active participation in daily activities, using positive reinforcement strategies. Prioritise the client’s safety, well-being, and emotional support at all times. Collaborate with team members and allied health professionals to deliver high-quality, person-centred support. Person Centred Active Support (PCAS) Develop meaningful and professional relationships with each client and their family, understanding their unique needs, goals, and daily living activities. Use positive reinforcement and behaviour management techniques to support clients to achieve their daily routines and goals. Provide a high level of physical support to clients including all aspects of manual handling, lifting, bending, stretching and physical transfer. Provide support with toileting, showering, mealtime management, medication, grooming, dressing, household duties, and other tasks as required. Provide support with daily planning, advocacy, communication and transport as required by the people we support in home and community settings. Support clients to access and purchase items with their own money in accordance with the eQuality Support Money Handling Policy. About You Experience with structure & routine: Ability to help individuals thrive by following personalised Behaviour Support Plans, ensuring consistency in care. High level of patience & empathy: Offering understanding and support with kindness, meeting the unique needs of each individual. Commitment & flexibility: Available to provide flexible support, including 3 shifts per week (weekday, weekend, and overnight options). Strong communication skills & passion: Effective communicator with a genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities. Relevant qualification: Have a Certificate III, Diploma, or similar qualification. Essential Have completed or willing to obtain Certificate III Qualification in a relevant area such as Disability, Community Services or Aged Care (individuals studying Health, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy will also be considered). Current First Aid Certificate with CPR. Current State/Territory driver’s licence and own reliable transport. Current NDIS Worker Screening Check. Satisfaction of all requirements for working in Australia. Desirable Disability, Management, Nursing or Allied Health related qualifications. Experience working in a community, residential and/or rehabilitation environment. Experience or interest in working with high needs clients, mental health issues and behaviours of concern. Awareness of relevant legislation (such as the Disability Act 2006, or the Department of Health and Human Services’ ISO Standards).
