Description Core Workplace Objectives Preparation and delivery of programs in line with appropriate curriculum. Enhancing effectiveness in the classroom through improved teacher knowledge, practice and professional engagement in order to achieve improved standards of teaching and learning. Ensuring the most effective use of time and resources in the delivery of classes aligned to student’s individual learning and pathways plans. Promoting the school’s alternative educational and strengths based model to ensure student goals and personal outcomes are achieved with the focus on “Changing the Lives of Young People” Workplace Tasking & Key Responsibilities Teaching duties are aligned to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. Key duties of the teacher may include but are not limited to: Writing curriculum that provides adjustments for students (this requires a n understanding of QLD curricula ; understanding of the QLD Curriculum F-10 will be highly regarded) Planning, writing and delivering structured lessons that differentiate and personalise the learning for each student Embedding best practice pedagogy into lesson plans to engage students. Working collaboratively in a small team to implement feedback. Embracing opportunities to participate in coaching and mentoring programs. Supporting students with a range of learning needs, including disabilities, behavioural disturbances, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, low levels of literacy/numeracy, and mental illness. This includes personalising the learning for individual students pursuant to the levels of adjustment of the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). Collaborating to write Individual Learning Plans for all students Embedding the strategies from Individual Learning Plans in lessons to support the needs of the student Providing timely and specific feedback to students to support learning growth (particularly through formative assessment practices).
