On Call Casual Pool – Telarah Shift Times: 0600-1400 1400-2200 [active] with 2200-0600 [sleepover] About You: Flexible availability to worker day and sleeopover shifts across 24/7 Roster of care Client preference in support staff are FEMALE Can demonstrate honesty, boundaries, humour, be a good fun personality companion, can cook, clean and manage a household, comfortable and confident with personal care and manual handling support tasks, has initiative and works well within the team. Presentation & Expectations of our clients: Scrubs are expected from the first buddy shift to maintain a professional appearance. Maintaining professional boundaries. Must be able to balance being compassionate and approachable while ensuring you are seen as a paid support worker and not a paid friend Minimum Essential: [basic onboarding] MUST be comfortable with TECHNOLOGY NDIS Worker Screening Check First Aid Certificate & Valid CPR Valid Driver’s License Medication management training [under 12mths recency] Manual handling training [under 24mths recency] Infection, prevention & control [under 12mths recency] Evidence of relevant cert III qualification or equivalent Minimum 2 years’ experience preferred especially with manual handling and hoist transfers It is essential to have experience and the willingness to learn in the safe use and operation of Pivot Hoist following clients manual handling plan The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission’s eLearning modules are designed to support NDIS workers to better support people with disability & understand their obligations under the NDIS Code of Conduct. Therefore, all applicants are required as a condition of their employment to evidence the completion of all 4 of the NDIS commission eLearning Modules with evidence provided during onboarding. The modules can be found here https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au/ General Responsibilities: Administering medication and adhering to all individual support plans. Completing concise and factual case notes, shift reports, and incident reports. Providing personal care, including toileting, showering, and feeding (meal management). Manual handling. Performing household management tasks, including cleaning, washing, ironing, meal preparation, and cooking fresh wholesome meals. Implementing behaviour management strategies to support clients’ emotional and mental well-being. Assisting with health appointments and social outings to promote community inclusion. A strong understanding of person-centered active support or a genuine willingness to embrace this model of care Demonstrated skills in providing assistance to adult clients with intellectual/physical disabilities, medical needs, and mental health diagnoses Demonstrated common sense and a proactive attitude towards learning and development. Supporting this client will require you to perform 1:1 personal care, transfers, and manual repositioning and other physical tasks independently following manual handling plan operating power wheelchair support driving wheelchair bus [training & assessment provided] to attend appointments and community outings.
