Job Description An exciting opportunity exists within the Griffith Sport team as we look to expand our pool of Active Kids Program Leaders ahead of the school holiday period. This is a casual role, based at the Mt Gravatt campus. Led by the Sport Programs Manager, this role is vital in delivering a high quality sport focused holiday program to the children and families of Griffith University and the wider community, through sport coaching and supervision. Active Kid Program Leaders are responsible for facilitation of the program which includes a variety of sport sessions which are run throughout the day to engage school aged children and encourages them to be active during the school holidays. The program is extremely popular and sells out every school holidays, you will be joining a large team of like minded individuals tasked with being the face of the Griffith Sport Active Kids program. Key Accountabilities include: Facilitation of safe, inclusive and positive sport sessions to program participants Assist in the program’s administration requirements, including activity planning, equipment preparations, facility set-up, pack down and daily registration procedures Ensure the efficient communication, supervision, support and guidance to all children and parents You will need to be suitably qualified and confident in administering first aid, and have a current Blue Card. You would need to be available throughout the school holidays (7-17 April). Example shifts include Monday to Friday 7:45 am – 12:45pm or 11:45am to 5:15pm Essential Criteria include: Demonstrated experience and passion in delivering sport coaching sessions to children Demonstrated understanding of how to effectively and safely run sport sessions for children Ability to develop a professional rapport with staff, children and families, and the ability to communicate effectively Desirable criteria include: Relevant qualification (or working towards qualifications) in physical education, sport coaching and/or sport management
