About the role Mater has an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Senior Administration Officer to join the Inpatients Admin Team working Part-time as a ward clerk in the Mater Private Hospital. This Senior Administration Officer role is a permanent part-time opportunity (44 hours per fortnight) and will see you working every Friday 0630 – 1500 and every 2 nd Saturday 0900 – 1300 and then flexibility is required to cover the remaining hours of your contract across Monday to Thursday over varies inpatient wards. Opportunities for additional shifts will also be available. Further detail regarding hours/shifts will be provided to you at the interview. Salary: $38.81 (MCA3) per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 access to many staff benefits What you’ll be doing Key Accountabilities and experience required for this role include but are not limited to: Manage, organize, and provide confidential administrative support to the department ensuring areas are efficiently managed, representing Mater with strong customer focus to staff, patients and visitors Ability to respond competently in emergency situations, remaining calm and composed and to ‘think on your feet' Performing administrative functions as required, in accordance with departmental policies and procedures working closely with the Nursing Unit Manager and Clinical Team Ensure effective, accurate and timely communications with staff and clients, communicating with sensitivity and discretion Provide accurate data entry using various network-based information systems to effectively manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers in a timely and accurate manner Carry out other administration functions as directed by your Team Leader/Manager Exercise judgement where necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined About you The successful candidate will possess: High level customer service, verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to provide efficient and effective administrative support in a timely and organised manner Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, patients, and visitors Accurate data entry skills with a high-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively within busy, demanding, fast paced environments While previous experience in a similar role is not mandatory, previous administration experience within a healthcare environment will be very highly regarded.
