If so, we want to hear from you About the Role We are seeking a mature, experienced Female Disability Support Worker to provide dedicated support to a client with Schizoaffective Disorder – Bipolar Type (Rapid Cycling). We are looking for someone with a mental health background, but we may consider applicants who demonstrate strong confidence, initiative, and maturity. The client presents with manic and depressive episodes, leading to complex behaviours. Despite these challenges, the client enjoys personal grooming, shopping, music, and TV. She values her independence and dislikes being told what to do in her own home. Location: Frankston Shifts: 2x Part Time and 1 Casual (Set Permanent Part Time roster, MUST be available for times below): Position 1 (55 hours/FN): Week 1: Monday, Tuesday & Friday 10:00pm to 7:00am (active shifts) Week 2: Monday & Thursday - 5:00pm to 10:0pm Tuesday - 10:00pm to 7:00am Saturday - 12:00pm to 4:00pm Sunday - 12:00pm to 5:00pm Position 2 (23 hours/FN): Week 1: Thursday: 12:00pm to 5:00pm Saturday and Sunday: 10:00pm to 7:00pm (Active Nights) Your Role & Responsibilities Provide compassionate, non-judgmental support while promoting safety and well-being Assist with daily living tasks, self-care, and mental health stability Use strong communication skills to de-escalate situations and build rapport Maintain firm but respectful boundaries while respecting her autonomy Support her in making safe choices and encourage positive routines Work within a team and follow care plans tailored to her needs Requirements Mental health background (preferred) NDIS Workers Screening Check Working with Children Check First Aid and CPR certificate Certificate III or IV in individual support, disability or equivalent Australian driver's license and your own fully insured vehicle If you're ready to make a difference in someone’s life and have the skills to navigate complex behaviours with confidence, apply now
