About The Role Currently, we are searching for a number of dedicated and experienced female support workers only , for positions near the Hamlyn Terrace, Gorokan, Woongarrah . These roles involve assisting participants facing complex behaviour, mental and physical health challenges. Our House Captains, Team Leaders and Service Managers will offer guidance, and you will have access to our online training platforms as required for your role. About You: Ideally, you will have prior experience in supported independent living (SIL), in-home care (IHC), or community support settings, particularly with high-need participants. Excellent English skills in verbal and written communication Have experience working with clients who have complex needs and complex behaviours Have experience in manual handling, personal care or wound care Experience in medication administration A positive and adaptable attitude, combined with an eagerness to learn and grow Punctuality and reliability are essential qualities Proficient understanding of meal management plans and their implementation Ability to think creatively to solve problems independently. Capable of working autonomously or collaboratively within a team Key Responsibilities: Comprehensive Disability Care : The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong history of effectively assisting individuals with a range of disabilities. This entails a deep understanding of our client’s unique requirements and obstacles. Manual Handling Expertise : Proficiency in manual handling techniques is crucial. This involves aiding clients in tasks like showering and transfers and utilizing specialized equipment like hoists. Safety and client comfort are paramount. Reliability and Client-Centered Approach : We highly value reliability and an approach that prioritizes our clients’ needs. Our support workers consistently display empathy, patience, and dedication in meeting the diverse needs of our clients. Maintaining Hygiene Standards : Diligence in upholding high hygiene standards within living environments is a fundamental aspect of this role. This includes ensuring cleanliness and organization to ensure the health and well-being of our clients. Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution : Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle challenging situations with composure are essential attributes. Support workers often encounter challenges requiring quick thinking and effective resolution. To be successful in this role, you will have: Cert III or Cert IV in Disability or Aged Care or Diploma in Community Services Unrestricted right to work in Australia (preferred) Hold an NDIS Worker Screening Check (mandatory) Hold a current police check certificate (or be prepared to get one) A current First Aid Certificate (or be ready to get one) Hold a current Australian driver’s license and your own fully registered & insured vehicle Working With Children’s Check (mandatory) What’s on offer Better than market pay rates A consistent number of shifts Ongoing training and support
