Acusensus is seeking an experienced, solution-focused and commercially astute Senior Legal Counsel to take a key leadership role within their close-knit legal team in Melbourne. Reporting directly to the General Counsel & Company Secretary, this newly created position will be instrumental in shaping the fast-paced legal strategy for Acusensus, supporting its business projects and objectives as the company continues to rapidly expand internationally. This role is ideal for a legal professional with a passion and a comprehensive understanding of privacy, technology, intellectual property, data protection, cybersecurity and emerging trends such as artificial intelligence. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and a strong track record in managing and negotiating commercial agreements, including government contracts, licensing, and procurement. This role will also have exposure to a range of areas, including contract and commercial law, corporate governance, health, safety & environment (HSE), employment law, and dispute resolution. As the Senior Legal Counsel at Acusensus, you must demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence executive decisions, manage stakeholders on a global scale and mentor members of the immediate legal team. A current Australian Practising Certificate is required, along with at least 6 years of experience in a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal counsel. Experience in the technology, transport, construction, or engineering sectors is highly preferred.
