About the Role: The Senior Sales Drafting Technician plays a critical role in connecting technical design with client-focused sales solutions. You will work closely with our sales team to ensure that our clients receive accurate, innovative, and cost-effective building solutions that comply with all necessary regulations. This position requires a deep understanding of residential construction, excellent Revit skills, and strong communication abilities. Key Responsibilities: • Collaboration: Work alongside the Sales Package Coordinator to deliver design solutions that meet client specifications and technical requirements. • Revit Design: Use Revit to create and modify conceptual and preliminary designs while ensuring compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, and local council regulations. • Technical Drawing & Documentation: Interpret architectural plans and produce high-quality technical drawings, proposals, and documentation for clients. • Feasibility & Construction Methods: Evaluate design feasibility and construction techniques to ensure cost-effective and sustainable solutions. • Client Interaction: Attend client meetings, offering technical advice and support to ensure smooth transitions from sales to drafting and construction. • Site Assessments: Conduct on-site evaluations, particularly for slope-sensitive lots, and provide recommendations based on structural and planning considerations. • Industry Awareness: Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure innovative and compliant solutions. Key Success Factors: • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a sales, drafting, or technical advisory role within the residential construction industry. • Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Revit; familiarity with AutoCAD or other drafting software is a plus. • Residential Construction Knowledge: Strong understanding of residential construction principles, NCC, Australian Standards, and the ability to assess designs for slope-sensitive sites. • Drawing & Documentation Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, create detailed sales plans, and produce construction documentation. • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, builders, and developers. • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to tackle design challenges and ensure project feasibility. • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting deadlines. Qualifications & Training: • Required: Diploma or Degree in Building Design, Architecture, Drafting, or a related field. • Preferred: Experience with energy efficiency assessments, BASIX, or sustainability design is advantageous.
