Who we are The Security, Integrity and Assurance branch is responsible for the delivery of the department's integrated protective security and integrity frameworks. We prevent, detect, and respond to security incidents, suspected misconduct, fraud and corruption, and develop unique insights to proactively identify and mitigate risks to the department and its operations. Responsible for the provision of independent, objective and risk-based internal audit, assurance and advisory services, we also provide independent support to the Inspector-General of Biosecurity and Inspector-General of Animal Welfare and Live Animal Exports. The Assessment and Assurance Section are the front door for the Security, Integrity and Assurance Branch. We receive, triage and assess all complaints, referrals and reports, coordinate reporting and provide assurance of employee declarations. The key duties of the position include The Job The duties of the role will include some or all of the following: • Providing administrative support to the Security, Integrity and Assurance Branch. • Management of group mailboxes including record keeping in accordance with departmental and branch protocols. • Proactively triaging and responding to enquiries from a diverse range of stakeholders (both internal and external) on integrity and security matters. • Contributing to, and supporting the development and implementation of, improvements and best practice in systems, processes and procedures. • Building subject matter expertise through on the job training and learning opportunities. • Ensuring precise data input into the relevant IT systems. Please note that this process will initially be used to fill one ongoing position in the section . The merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may also be used to fill future ongoing vacancies in the branch where the duties are of a similar nature.
